FAQs

Reservations

1) Do I need a reservation?
A: Reservations are strongly recommended, especially on weekends and for dinner. Walk-ins are welcome when we have availability, but are dependent on both staffing levels and space.
2) How do I book a table?
A: Book online through our Tock reservation system. If you have a question before booking—dietary needs, accessibility, celebrations, or group requests—contact us by phone at 905-367-0343 or by email at reservations@terroirniagara.com and we’ll help.
3) What if we’re running late?
A: We hold your table for 10 minutes during peak service. Please contact us as soon as you can if you’re running late. We’ll do our best to hold your table or adjust your seating time when possible, but during busy services we may be limited by later reservations and kitchen pacing.
4) How can I book for a group (e.g., 7–12 people or more)?
A: Groups of 5+ require a credit card hold (refundable up to 48 hours before your reservation). For groups of 7+, please call the restaurant at 905-367-0343. We limit the number of groups at one time to help maintain the fine-dining atmosphere in our dining room. For larger groups, we may suggest a set menu and/or pre-selected choices to ensure smooth timing and the best guest experience.

Food and menus

5) What kind of restaurant is Terroir Restaurant & Wine Bar?
A: Terroir is a relaxed fine-dining winery restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake, located at Strewn Winery. Our cooking is seasonal and local, viewed through a French-inspired lens—classic techniques, thoughtful sauces, and carefully composed plates—designed to pair beautifully with Niagara wines.
6) Do you focus on local/seasonal ingredients?
A: Yes. Our menus evolve with the seasons and highlight Niagara/Ontario ingredients whenever possible, alongside ingredients we source more broadly when the dish calls for it. We are Feast On certified, recognizing our commitment to local producers and products.
7) Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options?
A: Yes. We typically have vegetarian options, and we offer at least one vegan appetizer, main, and dessert (menu items change seasonally).
8) Can you accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions (including celiac/gluten-free)?
A: We take allergies and dietary restrictions seriously. Please include details when booking and remind your server when you arrive. The menu notes dishes that are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan. While we can accommodate many needs, our kitchen handles common allergens, so we can’t guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.

Wine and drinks

9) Do you only serve Strewn wines?
A: Our list is centred on Strewn wines, with selections designed specifically for food pairing. Strewn’s Estate Sommelier has created recommendations by the glass and bottle. We also offer a selection of hyper-local craft beer and cider, along with non-alcoholic options. We do not currently serve spirits/cocktails.
10) Do you offer wine pairings?
A: Pairing guidance is part of what we do—our team is happy to recommend pairings for each course. From time to time, we also offer special multi-course food and wine events.
